K. S. Burkhart
K.S. Burkhart is a music educator, pianist, and composer from northeastern Pennsylvania. Kristen holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Cedarville University and a Master’s in Education from Wilkes University. Since 2002, she has taught music to grades K-12 in north-central and northeastern PA, and currently teaches in Blue Ridge School District. She serves as accompanist for multiple local schools and community events and has been the accompanist of the Montrose Community Chorale since 2012. Kristen is also an instrumental performer, participating in ensembles including the Montrose Blueberry Festival Band and Northern Tier Symphony Orchestra. During her twelve-year tenure as a church choir director, she specialized in creating choral music that was challenging but attainable for each group she conducted. As an educator, she is passionate about creating performance opportunities for students to display their creativity and build confidence. Kristen resides in northeastern PA with her husband and daughter.
Kristen is excited to join the CWJ Music House with her first upcoming publication, and hopes to contribute many more educationally enriching compositions to the impressive company catalog.
