CWJ Music House has been given an exciting opportunity that we just couldn't pass up! We were approached by the staff of the Montrose Blueberry Festival Massed Band to adapt and arrange Montrose Quickstep (1879) for the band's performance in their 2013 concert. The composer, H.E. Cogswell, was a native of Northeastern Pennsylvania and had ties to Susquehanna County, in particular, Brooklyn, PA. Originally published by J. W. Pepper (Philadelphia, PA) in 1879, the Montrose Quickstep became widely known as one of the best and most played pieces of its time. This Commemorative Edition will suit the needs of the modern scholastic and/or community concert band, with simpler passages, cues, updated rehearsal marks, and much more!
