"Dawn of a New Day" was commissioned to open a new school and originally meant as a tribute to the community as they moved into their new facility. The emotional meaning of the day was the absolutely heart and soul of this work as it was born, and is carried through the work. This work is a wonderful selection to include as a first concert with your new middle school band, to welcome a new administrator to your community, or if you're also moving into new facilities. Or, simply, if you want to give your students the optimism to look to the future.
