TOSCA was written by Giacomo Puccini (12/22/1858 – 11/29/1924, age of death 65), and was premiered 1/14/1900 at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome. This was his fifth opera, the second composed in his “Middle Period” during which he composed two other operas: La Bohème and Madame Butterfly. These three were his, and the opera world’s, most famous operas. This arrangement was originally arranged by Giuseppe Boccavecchia (Sousa's arranger) and is the same played by the Sousa Band, including his great musicians Herbert Clarke, Arthur Pryor, and Simone Mantia. This edition has been masterfully edited and arranged by Casimir V. Bork, Jr. It has been expertly scored with a modern symphonic band instrumentation for advanced and professional ensembles.
